Mr. Williams is a co-founder of UET and is responsible for all aspects of UET’s origination and marketing activities including the growth and operations of eight offices and over 70 employees. Mr. Williams brings 26 years of oil and gas marketing experience to UET. Mr. Williams attributes UET success with the ability to attract and manage industry professionals that are extremely focused on new ideas and non-traditional strategies within the oil and gas environment. Mr. Williams started his oil and gas career in 1990 in MIDCON Inc. and then began scheduling for Western Gas Resources. Mr. Williams took on trading duties at Kinder Morgan where he was responsible for all purchases and sales on the Kansas Nebraska system. Continuing at Wildhorse Energy Partners, Mr. Williams was the director of marketing and responsible for the gas trading business and its staff. Joining Tom Brown, Inc, he continued to work as the director of marketing managing production, storage and marketing. Before founding UET (2002), he managed a propriety book of business in the Rockies, which carried as the based model of United Energy Trading. Tom graduated with a B.S. in finance from Metropolitan State College in 1989.

Kristi Birdsall joined United Energy Corporation in May of 2005 as the Director of Risk Management. She has 19 years experience in the natural gas business. Her previous employers include Western Gas Resources, e prime, and Kerr McGee, where she held a variety of positions in accounting, gas scheduling, gas control, marketing, and risk. Seven of those years were spent trading natural gas, mainly in the West Texas area, giving her insight into her current responsibility of monitoring traders and risk. Serafin started his career in the natural gas business in 1999 as a financial staff accountant with Western Gas Resources, Inc. where he was responsible for preparing the monthly financial reports for eight natural gas and liquid plants.

In 2000, Serafin made the move from accounting to marketing as a financial analyst, where he was responsible for tracking the daily futures and derivative trading activities for WGR’s corporate financial trading desk.

Rob Platt has 20 years of experience in the energy gas industry – primarily as a gas trader on Northwest Pipeline and Western Canada, with experience in areas such as accounting, scheduling and operations management. He is currently responsible for trading and optimizing the UET’s assets in the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada, and he oversees UET’s Northwest Pipeline transportation portfolio. Rob started his career in natural gas with Associated Natural Gas in Salt Lake City, which later became Duke Energy. He was relocated to Houston where he was tasked with managing all Western trading and hedging activities at Duke Energy until moving back to Utah in 2005 to take a optimization and trading position with Wasatch Energy, which was acquired by BP in 2007. Rob was one of the founding partners of the Utah office for Iberdrola, managing the trading and optimization desk from 2007 to 2014. Rob is a graduate of the University of Utah.

Dale Miranda is the Manager of Safety and Operations for United Energy Trading and its subsidiaries. In this role, Dale is responsible for ensuring all UET-related companies comply with documented processes, procedures, operations and mitigative measures currently in place to: protect the health and safety of employees, contractors, and the public; safeguard the environment and minimize losses to UET’s assets; ensure the appropriate amount of care is taken in the planning and execution of UET operations; and respond to emergency situations. Dale has undergone extensive training related to crude oil transportation, safety and emergency response procedures. Dale maintains certification from ASTM, OSHA, WHMIS, Mastery Technologies, and HazMat in the following areas: HAZWOPER, Crude Oil Sampling, Testing and Evaluation, H2S Safety, Hazard Communications, Incident Command, and CPR for the Professional. In addition, Dale is well versed in regulatory compliance rules promulgated by OSHA, DOT, EPA, and PHMSA as such applies to UET’s operations, as well as ASTM, and API rules and regulations relating to proper measurements of crude oil. A graduate of the University of Northern Colorado, Dale spends his spare time hunting, fishing, golfing, and skiing. Dale has also hiked two 14ers!

Phil Harrod is the Chief Credit Officer for United Energy Corporation (UEC) and all of its subsidiaries which include United Energy Trading, LLC. He has been with the UEC since March 2003. He has more than 40 years of experience in the management of global credit operations in the energy industry and the related industry of engineering and manufacturing of capital equipment for the oil refining sector. He also participates in the banking arrangements for the company’s lines of credit.  Before joining UEC he was employed by Koch Industries, Inc. where he held various Director positions in credit operation for its refining and marketing businesses, its engineering and manufacturing companies and cash-flow lending.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in finance from Oklahoma State University. Throughout his career, he has taken an active role in the International Energy Credit Association, the leading global membership organization for credit professionals in the energy industry with more than 1,400 members.
